Hoffman repeatedly hit Consentino in the back of the head with a blunt instrument, fracturing his skull, said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. Hoffman then covered the body with blankets, placed an air freshener in the apartment to cover the smell of the decomposing body and moved out, authorities said.
