A man shot and killed his former girlfriend in Alameda before turning the gun on himself in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide, police said Tuesday.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired found a 30-year-old Alameda woman dead outside her home on the 2100 block of Alameda Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday, said police Lt. Sean Lynch. They also found a 36-year-old Oakland man suffering from at least one gunshot wound and a weapon belonging to him, Lynch said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
