Women slain in Ont. hotel were stabbed in the neck: Coroner

BARRIE, ONT. - Two Alberta women found murdered in a Barrie Travelodge this week died from neck wounds inflicted by a sharp object, an autopsy has found.

And one witness says he saw someone remove an X-Acto knife from the murder scene.

The provincial coroner's office has confirmed the official cause of death for both women as “sharp force neck trauma,” said Cheryl Mahar, a spokeswoman for the coroner.
