Man, 30, dies after driving his car into the path of an oncoming train

A man was killed after his car was crushed by a freight train moments after he appeared to drive directly into its path.

Witnesses reported seeing the motorist in his 30s turn vehicle, which was travelling in the same direction as the train, right and onto the track ahead of it.

The car was pushed for over 300 yards after the collision at about 8am in Placentia, police said.
