Two shootings left five people dead in northwest Harris County before dawn on Monday, beginning with what became a triple homicide at an apartment complex and ending with what was described as a crime of passion that took the lives of two women.
The 29-year-old mother of two and her teen niece were fatally shot during an ambush around 1:20 a.m. inside the garage of the family home in the 7800 block of Mosewood near Vernwood.
