'Dead' hamster found running around garden after being buried in a box and digging himself out of grave

A shocked family discovered their hamster had come back from the dead, a day after he was buried in their back garden.

Four-year-old Rhino, who the Eyley family have renamed Jesus, clawed his way out of a 2ft (60cm) grave to rejoin his sad owners.

He had been buried by father of three, Dave Eyley in the garden soil in Wantage, Oxfordshire, after being found 'cold and lifeless' in his cage.
