Mother-of-six fights for life after being stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver at the school gate 'as she collected sick child'

A mother-of-six is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed in the neck outside the school gates when she went to collect her poorly child.

Carol Bailey was knifed six times in the neck with a screwdriver outside Abbey Hulton Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, just yards away from young children in lessons on Monday morning.

Shocked neighbours say Mrs Bailey had been to collect her sick teenage child from a nearby secondary school when she was attacked at the gates of the primary school.
