IBARAKI — Police said Wednesday they have arrested a 30-year-old woman in Ibaraki on suspicion of killing her newborn baby daughter. The woman, identified as Miyuki Nagamine, was quoted by police as saying she gave birth to a baby girl in a Tsukuba hotel room in August, NTV reported. She allegedly killed the infant and then left the body in a coin-operated locker. During police questioning, Nagamine told investigators that she had separated from her husband, was living with her 3-year-old son and that life had been economically tough before the birth, NTV reported. She was quoted as saying she felt she could not offer the baby a decent quality of life.
