A man who murdered his wife's lover in an honour killing has been jailed for up to 23 years. Hazairin Iskandar, 58, stabbed Mohd Shah Saemin outside his Leichhardt flat in Sydney's inner-west in 2010. Iskandar stabbed Mr Saemin four times because the 43-year-old consulate driver was having an affair with his wife, Nita. Iskandar had pleaded guilty to manslaughter, but in June the New South Wales Supreme Court found him guilty of murder. His son, Andrew Iskandar, also took part in the attack, bashing Mr Saemin with a hammer. He was found guilty of murder last year and jailed for 18 years. Prosecutors had requested his father's sentence be of a similar length. Nita Iskandar was also convicted last year of helping her son flee to Singapore after the attack.
