The police chief who killed two other people and then himself in September had a large quantity of drugs at his home, the public prosecution department said on Friday. Police found 224 marijuana plants in Jan Petter’s house at the time of the killing, in the village of Kekerdom near the German border. But police also found 186 ecstasy pills, amphetamines, GHB and a number of older firearms, the department said. Petter first killed his ex-girlfriend, 47, and her new partner, 50, at their home before turning his service weapon on himself. It also now emerged that Petter, 59, had been flagged in an investigation by another police force but no probe into his activities had been carried out, the public prosecution department said.
