Man falls to death from roof of building; second body found in car

YAMANASHI — Police in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, said Friday that a man committed suicide by jumping from the roof of an apartment block, following which officers found another man’s body in his car parked nearby. According to police, the suspected suicide occurred at around 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. Fuji TV said that a resident in the apartment building in question contacted emergency services to report that a body had fallen from the building onto the street below. The man, a resident in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead. Officers searched the area and discovered the body of a second man in the passenger seat of a car belonging to the deceased. The man had stab wounds to his his chest. Police say the vehicle was parked in a car park just 100 meters from the scene. Prior to the incident, police said they received a call from an anonymous man saying he had killed someone.
