One hostage dead and a second critically injured as police storm Louisiana bank and kill gunman after 12 hour standoff

One of the hostages shot by a man during a standoff at a bank in rural Louisiana has died, police said. Louisiana State Police superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson said he had no further information about the dead hostage, while the second hostage who was also shot is in a critical condition. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed, initially took three hostages when he stormed the Tensas State Bank in St Joseph, LA, before releasing one of them. During negotiations with law enforcement he said he was going to kill the remaining two, and when officers entered the building just before midnight yesterday he shot the hostages before being shot and killed by police.
