Man stabs 3 people, then himself in Nagoya house

NAGOYA — A man broke into a house in Nagoya on Saturday morning, stabbed three people and then himself, police said. According to police, the attack took place in a residential district in Mizuho Ward at about 9 a.m. TBS quoted police as saying that the suspect, identified as Yutaro Sugiura, 25, smashed a window in the house and entered, wielding a knife. He stabbed a 27-year-old woman, the woman’s mother, 55, and her grandfather, 80. After that, he stabbed himself in the chest. Police said none of the injuries are life-threatening and said they will arrest Sugiura after he has recovered from his injuries. Police said that Sugiura, who is unemployed, and the woman used to have a relationship but had broken up, TBS reported. Police said the woman’s parents had consulted them several times about Sugiura’s stalking behavior.
