KANAZAWA —
Police in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, have arrested a woman who was found in a business hotel room next to the body of a murder victim.
According to police, staff at the Toyoko Inn Kanazawa Kenrokuen Korinbo in Kanazawa found the 33-year-old victim, who has been named as Miyuki Segi, 33, lying dead in a room at around 10:40 a.m. on Monday. TBS reported that another woman, identified as Suzuko Terakado, 43, checked in with the victim and was found in the room with her body.
Police said that Segi was found dead lying face up in bed, having apparently been strangled with a cord or rope.
TBS quoted investigators as saying that beside the bruising on her throat, no other obvious signs of injury were visible and that Segi was fully clothed when her body was found.
Terakado has denied killing Segi but said she and the victim were having trouble, police said.
