Fargo man stalks, then attacks, female neighbor with a tomahawk in broad-daylight bloodshed

An unhinged North Dakota man accused of stalking his neighbor used a tomahawk to attack and try and kill the woman just days before she was to move to get away from the creep, prosecutors said. Police found the blood-soaked victim next to a packed suitcase and her scattered purse on a sidewalk, holding a rag to her head to stop the bleeding, The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reported. Kokouvi Mawuena Afidegnon, 30, her alleged attacker, went and changed his clothes inside his apartment before police arrived and arrested him Friday afternoon. The mayhem began when the woman’s neighbor, John Williams, saw her leave her home and then began screaming. Williams told cops he saw Afidegnon on top of the woman, repeatedly smashing her in the head with the tomahawk. As a group of neighbors, alerted to the screaming woman, ran outside, they worked to pull the maniac off the victim and Williams ran with her into his apartment and locked the door.
