Doctor who 'shot colleague dead for getting him fired and his girlfriend' was 'erratic, unstable and drank too much'

A military doctor who allegedly killed his girlfriend, a colleague, and then himself, is said to have been erratic, unstable and a heavy drinker.

Dr. Giocondo Navek, 39, ambushed Dr. Payman Houshmandpour, 32, in his car outside his home in a Philadelphia suburb as he was leaving for work on the morning of April 12. Minutes later, Navek killed himself when police stopped his vehicle just a mile away.
