Used-car salesman 'murdered his wife, their son and her father in arson attack fuelled by spite after marriage collapse'

A used-car salesman fuelled by spite murdered his estranged wife, their son and her father by helping set fire to their family home following the collapse of their marriage, a court heard today.

Danai Muhammadi, 24, was the 'principal figure' behind the arson attack which killed Melissa Crook, 20, and their 15-month-old son Noah in Chatham, Kent, it is alleged.

Mrs Crook’s father, Mark Crook, 49, was left critically ill with severe burns in hospital in East Grinstead, West Sussex, following the fire just before 2.30am on September 10 last year and he died six days later.
