The family of a two-year-old girl raped by her mother's then boyfriend has clapped in court as a Hobart judge sentenced the man to seven a half years in jail.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was 24 when he took the girl into the bathroom of a Hobart shopping centre and raped her on the toilet floor.
The court heard he filmed the attack on a mobile phone but when confronted by police denied it.
He only admitted what he had done when forensic evidence linked him to the crime.
