Al Qaeda kill 15 as three car bombs rip through packed Iraqi market in deadly surge in violence

Three deadly explosions ripped through a packed market in a coordinated this morning - killing at least 15 people. The car bombs - hidden in trucks packed with goods - detonated virtually simultaneously as people did their shopping in central Iraq. This strike at the height of business in the town of Jidaidat al-Shatta is the latest in a bloody string of attacks during a devastating surge in violence ravaging the country. Iraq is suffering through a spike in bloodshed, with recent monthly death tolls rising to levels not seen since 2008.
