LISHUI ZHEJANG, China - A 22-year-old woman with a horrific disfigurement is asking for donations so she can get an operation.
Wu Xioayan's parents are farmers in southern China. They tell the Daily Star they cannot afford the surgery to treat their daughter's fibrous displasia, a bone disease.
A huge tumor is covering two-thirds of her face, say her doctors, obstructing her breathing and interfering with her vision and sense of smell.
The website Journalism Without Borders says Wu's parents have already managed to pay $15,000 for treatment, but still need more than $30,000 to complete the surgery.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
