A 75-year-old man from Lancashire has appeared in court charged with his wife's murder.
The body of Josephine Gilliard, 74, was found at about 10:00 GMT on Sunday at a house on Links Road, Blackpool.
Frederick Gilliard was remanded to appear at Preston Crown Court on 10 February.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds and a blow to the head with a heavy object, police said.
