A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death outside a house in Merseyside.
The 38-year-old man had been in a house on Birkenhead Road, in Seacombe, with people he knew when a fight broke out at about 1700 GMT on Friday.
The fight spilled out on to the street where he suffered the fatal injury. He died later at Arrowe Park Hospital.
Merseyside Police said the murder suspect was from the Wallasey area.
Forensic examinations are being carried out at the scene and house-to-house inquiries have begun.
Police said CCTV would be examined to try and establish what had happened and high visibility patrols had been stepped up in the area to reassure the community.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.
Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police or Crimestoppers.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
