A University of Idaho professor shot dead a student he had previously dated and committed suicide after she reported him to authorities for threatening her with a gun three times, it has been revealed.
Katy Benoit, 22, was killed by psychology professor Ernesto Bustamante in August, after she and others warned the university that he had talked in class about shooting students and was having 'sex orgies' with students.
University officials have said that they urged Benoit to take safety precautions and go to police, but that they could not tell officers details of the allegations because of confidentiality.
