French police arrested a notorious Norwegian neo-Nazi (Varg Vikernes) living in central France on Tuesday morning over fears he was plotting a massacre similar to that carried out by terrorist Anders Behring Breivik, according to a report by French radio RTL.

Triple homicide in Etobicoke

TORONTO - Toronto Police have a male suspect in custody following the discovery of three bodies in Etobicoke. Officers were called to a townhouse complex at 65 Old Burnhamthorpe Rd., in the Hwy. 427 and Bloor St. W. area, shortly before 7 p.m. Monday. After arriving at the complex and making the grim discovery inside a residence, police identified a suspect and pursued him to a nearby ravine. It was there they made an arrest following negotiations to end a tense standoff. “Officers located the suspect, there was a brief standoff ... (as) he was armed,” Insp. Tim Crone told media at the scene, adding the suspect had initially confronted officers with a knife. “We negotiated with the suspect for a period of time and he subsequently surrendered.”

An 11-year-old boy and his six-year-old sister have been killed in a tragic boating accident in Michigan that left another sibling fighting for her life. Alex and Gabrielle Mansour and their 10-year-old sister, Adriana, were in a tube being pulled behind their father, John Mansour, who was riding a jet ski on Sylvan Lake on Sunday. At around 12:30 p.m., a boater swerved to avoid the jet ski but failed to see the tube, striking the three children head on.

A dog was set on fire and burned to death in Texas Saturday morning. Firefighters were called after residents of a suburban Houston, TX. neighborhood began to fear black smoke billowing from the sewer in front of their homes. Only when they arrived did responders realize the horrific nature of the fire – a dog had been stuffed in the sewer and lit on fire. The scorched dog is described by officials as a white pit bull, reports said.

Body of man found burned to death in 'vigilante attack' just hours after being released from police custody

The body of a man has been found badly-burnt and with serious head injuries hours after he was questioned by police in what is believed to be a vigilante attack. A group of teenage boys saw the charred remains of the man in his 40s in the Brislington area of Bristol. He had suffered a serious assault and set on fire before paramedics arrived at around 1.40am in the early hours of Sunday. Emergency services battled to put out the flames but were unable to save him and he died at the scene.

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in a park after an argument which 'started on Facebook' escalated. Hassan Mahmood died after being knifed in a park in South Yardley, Birmingham, last night following an argument between two groups of youths. Police are questioning four teenagers on suspicion of murder following the killing. Two 16-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old are in custody, West Midlands Police said.

Girl, 15, is 'sliced in half' by shark while snorkelling off Indian Ocean island

A teenage girl ‘died instantly’ when she was sliced in two by a shark while snorkelling near the beach on a paradise island in the Indian Ocean. The 15-year-old was less than 15 feet (five metres) from the shore of the island of Reunion, located off the coast of Madagascar, when the savage attack took place. Her terrified sister was among those who saw the girl schoolgirl disappear under the water at around 3pm today.

Man beats 10-year-old girl unconscious in Ibaraki

IBARAKI — A 10-year-old girl remains unconscious and seriously injured after being beaten by a 30-year-old man in Ibaraki Prefecture, police said Monday. According to police, eyewitnesses reported that the girl was being attacked on a road near a karaoke establishment in Ryugasaki at around 4 p.m. Sunday. Fuji TV reported that her attacker fled and was chased to a bowling alley roughly 500 meters away by a passerby on a bicycle. Police cornered him there and arrested him a short time later. Police say the suspect, identified as Hiromi Noguchi, 30, punched and kicked the girl during the attack, causing her to suffer a brain hemorrhage. Doctors say the girl is alive but that she remains unconscious and in a serious condition. Noguchi was quoted by police as saying that he had approached the girl with the intention of sexually assaulting her, Fuji reported.

More soldiers and veterans killed themselves last year than died in battle as investigation finds 29 took their own lives

More British soldiers and veterans committed suicide last year than were killed in battle, it has been reported. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that in 2012 seven serving soldiers were confirmed to have killed themselves, while a further 14 died in suspected suicides but inquests had yet to be held. The Government does not record suicides among former soldiers, but an investigation by the BBC's Panorama found at least 29 veterans also took their own lives last year.

Woman, 48, falls off a cliff to her death while looking for her 'beloved' dog not long before it was found
