Women met 'accused hours before death'

Two Perth women were introduced to the man who allegedly burned their bodies just hours before their deaths, police believe.

Police on Wednesday revealed the bodies of two women found in a burnt-out Land Cruiser on May 1 were that of Melanie Carle, 26, and Kellie Maree Guyler, 32.

Brett Nicholas Richard Kuzimski was earlier charged with causing criminal damage by fire to a vehicle but police say they expect the charge to be upgraded to murder.

He has been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector David Bryson said police would allege Mr Kuzimski was introduced to the two women through friends only five to six hours before the pair died.

The Land Cruiser was discovered near the women's Wattle Grove home, in the city's east, at 6am (WST) on May 1.

Det Insp Bryson said the fire was extremely intense, indicating an accelerant had been used.

Police would not confirm the women's cause of death.

Mr Kuzimski has already appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court over the criminal damage charge.

Police expect him to face murder charges when he next appears in court on May 24.
