CANDLER — Buncombe County deputies charged a man with repeatedly slamming a door on his girlfriend’s head Saturday.
Frank Rainey Browder, 41, of Old. U.S. Highway 19/23, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault on female. According to arrest warrants, Browder used a mobile home door and struck his girlfriend several times causing major bruising and her left eye to swell shut. He also kicked and punched her several times on her body and head.
Bond was set at $5,000.
