Moreno-Hernandez was convicted in October, after a trial in which the victim testified for about two hours. She said in March 2009 she agreed to give Moreno-Hernandez a ride home from the restaurant where they worked. She said he raped and beat her in her car, then at a local park, before leaving her for dead.
