Toddler decapitated in northern Spain by father

MADRID (AP) - Spanish police say a 2-year-old girl was decapitated by her father, who told investigators he was possessed by a demon who ordered him to kill the child.

The suspect, a 34-year-old Colombian identified only as Marcelo R. O., is accused of using a knife to cut off the head of his daughter in the north-eastern city of Girona.

A police spokesman said on Thursday that an older sister of the child was present in the home when the crime happened but was not hurt. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of department policy.

He says the child's mother was not home at the time, and that the suspect called a police emergency line to report the crime after he killed his daughter.

Historic cemetery found in New Orleans back yard after owner decided to dig for pool and instead unearths 13 caskets

When a man decided to dig a plot in his New Orleans backyard for a swimming pool, he ended up discovering a historic cemetery that dates back to the 1700s.

Vincent Marcello lives in the historic French Quarter of the city and unearthed 13 caskets while workers dug up his backyard.

A teenager has been charged with killing his mother, his mother's boyfriend and his sister.

Donald Rudolph, 18, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, was arrested after police discovered a gruesome scene at his mother's home.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said on Friday that police found the bodies after a neighbour called and said there was suspicious activity at the house just after 8pm on Thursday.

(THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A college lecturer allegedly tied up, beat and raped his student before forcing her to swallow his semen.

China Press reported that the lecturer in his 40s had summoned the 21-year-old girl to meet him at his office to discuss her coursework. He told her she would fail an exam if she refused to go on a date with him.

The victim agreed to follow the lecturer into his car to go for breakfast. But he took her mobile phone and drove to his home where he raped her.

He then dropped her off at an LRT station. The student, accompanied by her sister, lodged a report at the Sentul police station.

16 feared dead as firemen cut victims free of burning wreckage following 27-vehicle smash on M5

At least 16 people were feared dead today after a 27-vehicle crash on the M5 with the death toll expected to rise further.

The horror smash on the northbound carriageway of near Taunton, Somerset, involved 23 cars and vans and four lorries.

It is thought 43 motorists were hurt in the accident with the number of dead expected to rise to 21, according to police sources. Eight of the casualties are believed to be critically injured.

Television footage showed motorists trying to pry open vehicle doors in a bid to rescue those trapped in last night's carnage which happened at 8.30pm in Taunton, Somerset.
