Gallatin man charged with rape

March 16, 2010

Police have arrested a Gallatin man accused of attempting to rape two teenage girls on Saturday, March 13.

Charlie Leslie “Boots” Templeton, 22, is charged with rape, attempted rape and two counts of sexual battery.

According to the affidavits filed in Sumner County General Sessions Court, Templeton allegedly entered the bedroom of a Brush Hill Court residence in which a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl were sharing a bed.

Templeton is accused of putting his arms around both girls and attempting to kiss them before making forceful sexual advances against them, according to affidavits.

The 13-year-old girl escaped from the bed, at which time Templeton allegedly continued his assault against the other girl, who he allegedly threatened to kill if she told anyone about his actions.

When the 13-year-old girl attempted to leave the room, Templeton is accused of grabbing her to prevent her from leaving.

Two male witnesses at the scene heard noises from the room and went to investigate, discovering Templeton on top of the 13-year-old girl “…with his hand down her pants, acting rough with her.”

Templeton’s composite bond was set at $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court on April 21.
