A 21-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after allegedly throwing his 18-month-old daughter into oncoming traffic in Oakland in California.
The toddler survived, The Oakland Tribune reported.
John Taylor allegedly picked up his daughter and shook her on Saturday before tossing her into a busy traffic lane, according to an off-duty police officer who witnessed the incident.
An oncoming car stopped in time to prevent running over the girl.
However, the girl was burned and scraped by the car’s undercarriage.
The girl, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Mr Taylor allegedly attacked police and motorists who tried to subdue him.
He was stunned with a Taser gun and suffered minor injuries.
Police are not sure what motivated Mr Taylor's alleged actions and are continuing investigations.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
