A man survived a suicide attempt after a 39-storey fall from an apartment block and landing on a parked car in New York's Manhattan, U.S. media reported.
Thomas Magill, a 22-year-old student, crashed through the roof a Dodge Charger and landed in the backseat of the car. The speed of his falling at the moment of the impact with the car was almost 140 kmp (87 mph).
Miraculously, Magill survived the fall although he sustained multiple injuries including fractured legs. He has already undergone surgery on his legs.
"He's stable now. We can only hope he'll be OK," UPI.com quoted Magill's father as saying.
Witnesses say that after the fall Magill kept screaming about his legs before losing consciousness.
In July, a 15-year-old teenager miraculously survived after he fell 16 floors from an apartment block in Auckland, New Zealand. He crashed through the roof of a parking lot and hit a concrete floor suffering a broken wrist, a broken rib and a gouged leg.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
