LOS ANGELES - A woman's dismembered body has been found on a San Fernando Valley freeway.
The body, originally thought to be a dead dog's, was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on the southbound Interstate 5 in Sun Valley.
Lt. Robert Davis says it appears that the woman was struck by several cars and the impact dismembered her.
Davis says it's unclear what the woman was doing on the freeway. He says investigators at first thought she had jumped from an overpass but that has now been ruled out.
Coroner's officials withheld the woman's name until her family is notified.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
