BARSTOW, Calif. (AP) — Police in Barstow are trying to identify a human head that was found inside a backpack in the San Bernardino County desert.
Police says a man collecting cans found the backpack last week. Inside was the head of a brown-haired woman, wrapped in plastic grocery bags with the store labels “Fiesta Foods” and “Walgreens.”
Police say DNA samples and X-rays have been sent to the state but investigators also are asking for the public’s help.
The head was found west of a residential neighborhood not far from several truck stops.
Barstow is about 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
