SAN DIEGO — The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the shooter in a murder-suicide as 41-year-old Robert Paul Agnew.
Authorities say the San Diego man shot and killed Eric B. Schulthise, 40, before turning the gun on himself sometime last week.
The men’s bodies were found in Schulthise’s City Heights condominium on Wilson Avenue Friday afternoon after a concerned co-worker asked police to do a welfare check, said homicide Lt. Ernie Herbert.
Officers who responded looked through a window of the first-floor unit and saw two men on the living-room floor, Herbert said.
Adam Strom, who lives in an adjacent unit, said Friday that Schulthise had confided in him that he was being stalked by someone he had been seeing.
Strom said he heard gunshots early Thursday morning and called 911, but said he was not aware of police responding. He said he called police again Friday to report that he was concerned about his neighbor. He said he also sent text messages to Schulthise, but received no response.
