A 2 ½-year-old boy drowned Saturday after his parents found him in the family pool, police said.
The boy, whose name was not released, lived in his grandparents' home near 75th Avenue and Cactus Road along with his parents, twin brother and 7-month-old sister, said Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies.
All were home when the boy went missing for about 20 minutes, Davies said.
Officials responded to the call after 5 p.m. Saturday. Parents pulled the boy out of the pool and started CPR, Davies said.
The boy was not breathing when he was airlifted to a local hospital, where he later died.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
