A toddler managed to rouse neighbours and raise the alarm after discovering her father had been brutally murdered.
The bare-foot girl, three, fled the horrifying scene at her home in an apartment block in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and alerted other residents.
They called police who discovered the body of Dametrick McDaniel, 25, lying in a pool of blood.
