Russian Suspected of Eating Neighbor's Dog

A Russian man caught with the remains of his neighbor's dog in a saucepan could face a five year jail sentence for theft, police said Friday. The 28-year old man sneaked through his neighbor's fence and killed the German shepherd with a knife, a police spokesman in the republic of Buryatia said. During an investigation after a complaint by the neighbor who could not find his dog, police said they found a saucepan full of dog meat in the man's house. "As became clear, the suspect regularly used that sort of meat in his diet," the spokesman said. The alleged dog meat connoisseur could face up to five years in prison on theft charges.
