Suspected gunman kills innocent driver in horrific crash during high-speed chase in South Florida

A high-speed chase in South Florida between police and a gunman suspected of shooting two women on Wednesday ended in a horrific highway crash that killed an innocent driver. Broward County authorities said the gunman was discovered dead at the crash site on U.S. 27 after an hour-long standoff with dozens of deputies and SWAT teams, the Miami Herald reported. Gunshots were heard inside the suspect's badly damaged Mercedes SUV shortly after the crash and early reports said he shot himself. The suspect was not identified. The innocent driver, who was hit by the fleeing gunman, was also pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Her name was not released.
