California cops are baffled as to what may have caused a San Jose police sergeant to kill his wife before shooting himself at the couple's home.
Gilroy police Capt Jim Gillio said officers found the bodies of Christopher Shimek and his wife, 43-year-old Lynn Polinsky-Shimek, late Sunday.
Christopher Shimek died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
