YAMAGATA — A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his elderly mother, who subsequently died, police said Monday. The man, who has been named as 49-year-old Masahiko Jono, is accused of punching his 73-year-old mother Kimiko multiple times at their home in Takahata, Yamagata Prefecture, last Friday night, TBS reported. On Saturday morning, Jono called police to report that his mother had passed away. The coroner ascribed the cause of death to blood loss. Authorities say that marks found on the body of the deceased suggest that she had been assaulted before. Police say Jono has not yet been charged with manslaughter, but that they are currently investigating whether the assault was directly connected to the woman’s death.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
