Woman who blamed 'intruder' for slashing pet dog is jailed for the attack which left spaniel with 31 wounds and burns

A woman who blamed an ‘intruder’ for slashing her pet's head, nose and body 31 times has been jailed for attacking her springer spaniel. Kim Edmonds, 21, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to the dog at Stoke-on-Trent magistrates court last week. She was sentenced today to 20 weeks in prison, minus the six days she has already served. The maximum sentence she could have got was six months.
