An eleven-year-old schoolgirl needed surgery after a man dragged her off the street and subjected her to a brutal sex attack. The man followed the girl, who was wearing school uniform, after she got off a bus on Bury Street in Enfield at 4.15pm on Friday afternoon. Sensing she was being followed, the girl crossed Galliard Road to try and shake him off. But he dragged her into nearby Jubilee Park by a pitch and putt area and sexually assaulted her. Police described the suspect as a black male with afro hair wearing a dark grey top and black baggy jeans. Police patrols have been stepped up in the area and Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw said: 'It's a brutal attack on a defenceless eleven-year-old girl. It doesn't need me to say how serious an attack this is.
