OSAKA — Police said Tuesday they have arrested a 40-year-old woman in Hirakata, Osaka Prefecture, for allegedly strangling her 5-year-old daughter to death. According to police, the woman called the emergency services at 3:30 p.m. on Monday and said that she had killed her daughter, NTV reported. Police arrived at the scene to find the woman and her daughter lying with a handkerchief tied tightly around her neck. Police say the girl was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead. The woman was quoted as telling police that her worries about child-raising motivated the murder.
