YOKOHAMA —
Police in Yokohama said they were called to a home on Sunday by a man reporting that both of his parents had “committed suicide.”
According to police, a 26-year-old man called the emergency services at around 5:30 p.m. to report that both of his parents had committed suicide with a firearm. TBS reported that police arrived at the scene to find the bodies of 54-year-old Soichi Sasaki, the president of a generator design company, and his wife Kazuko Sasaki, 58. Police say the deceased were lying on the groundfloor near the kitchen bleeding from gunshot wounds, in what is being treated as a murder-suicide.
Police say the couple’s son said he was on the second floor of the house when he heard a gunshot. He then reportedly came downstairs and found his parents bodies lying next to a hunting rifle.
Police said that no suicide note was found at the scene.
