Mom wanted me to kill her, son allegedly told police

A Downers Grove man accused of killing his mother — and already under investigation by Homeland Security — told police his mother wanted him to kill her because he had also planned to kill himself. DuPage County prosecutors said Friday.

On the tape, Michael Zaky Bassaly can be heard crying and pleading, saying, “I shot my mom. I shot her in the brain.”

Along with cries of “Mom” and “Please, Please, Please, Oh God,” Bassaly is heard saying “She made me do it. She wanted me to do it.”
