The 18-year-old victim was slashed across the face with a knife while she was unconscious and was also stabbed in the legs
Detectives were today hunting a brutal boyfriend who allegedly slashed open his former partner's face and stabbed her in the legs before casually walking away.
The attack, during which Shyan Myrie allegedly attempted to strangle his victim, left the woman with a horrific 10cms-long car on her face.
Police said that 20-year-old Myrie could be dangerous and should not be approached by the public but instead anyone sighting him should dial 999.
The 18-year-old victim said that the attack, which left her potentially scarred for life and stab wounds in her legs, had changed her forever.
She named Myrie as the person who carried out the attack and police said that he had been on the run for almost two months since it took place.
Police took the unusual step of naming Myrie and releasing a graphic picture of the injuries he is alleged to have inflicted on his former girlfriend two months after the incident.
The brutal assault happened when Myrie was allegedly with his victim at his flat in Hoddesdon, Herts., and beat her up before strangling her until she was unconscious.
While unconscious, her face was slashed with a knife and she was stabbed in the legs.
Myrie was seen outside Barclays bank in Hoddesdon, just minutes after the attack and was spotted on CCTV strolling along the road. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown jacket, black tee-shirt with white writing on it and his hair is tied in a bunch on top of his head.
However, he has not been seen since then but was known to have links to the Chadwell Heath, Ilford, Redbridge and Eastham areas of east London. Police said that it was believed he could be hiding out there.
The victim, who asked not to be named, took part in a recorded police video interview to help track down the man.
She said: 'We was going out for a year, that was kind of good in the start and then he started to get violent during our relationship.
'We broke up and then we started to be friends and then our relationship just went downhill.
'We went to his flat in Hoddesdon and he wanted to leave and leave me there but obviously I didn't know the area so I didn't want him to go.
'Then he started to question me with all these difficult questions and all of a sudden he started to beat me up, like punching me in my head and stamping on my head.
'Then he gave me five seconds to answer another question but obviously I couldn't answer it because I had just got beaten up.
'Then he took his top off and started searching for a blade and then he grabbed me from the back and tried stabbing me from the back.
'He wanted to cut my face but I wouldn't let him. He said he was going to put me to sleep but I didn't understand what he meant by that so then he strangled me and I passed out.
'I don't really know how long I passed out but when I woke up I had a 10cms line down my face and he digged my leg.
'Then he just told me to take my top off because it was full of blood and wash my face. I could remember he just said to me, it's a shame that your face has got scarred and I left.'
He started to follow the young woman as she left the flat to try to get home to the safety of her family but a woman on the street spotted her and realised she needed help.
The traumatised victim continued: 'A lady just put me in a cab and called the police and ambulance.
'I'm not saying he is violent or anything but he knows he has done a bad thing and the best thing to do is just confront it and come forward.
'I don't think he should be protected (by his friends) really because if it happened to him he would want help.
'Shyan doesn't really deserve to be protected and people know where he is; they should own up and phone the police because they will be helping me out and I'm worried that he will do it to another girl or another human being.'
She added: 'I was badly attacked and this has affected my whole life. From the photograph you can see the injuries he has caused. If you know where he is please tell the police as he does not deserve any protection for what he has done to me.'
A £500 pounds reward has been offered for help in finding Myrie and police have released the video interview along with a graphic photo of the scars to her face.
Police have been searching for Myrie since the attack which happened at 2.50pm on Sunday May 30 and a £500 pounds reward has been put forward by Crimestoppers for any help in tracking down the alleged attacker.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Gerry McDonald, said: 'We are determined to catch this man and are renewing our appeals to anyone who knows of him, his whereabouts or if you have seen him out on the street to please get in contact with us.
'This man has committed a vicious attack and does not deserve any protection.'
