A Darwin man has been jailed for nearly three years for maintaining a sexual relationship with a boy 55 years his junior.
The 69-year-old man was arrested for child sex offences in March this year, shortly after he reported to police that he had been assaulted and robbed at his Darwin home.
Police discovered he had been maintaining a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy for more than two months after questioning him about the robbery.
The Northern Territory Supreme Court heard the boy was with a group of other men during the robbery, but did not take part in the incident.
The pensioner pleaded guilty to having sex with the boy, showing him an erotic film and supplying him with cannabis.
Justice Dean Mildren sentenced him to four years and two months' jail, with a non-parole period of two years and 11 months.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."
"Being is substance and life; life manifests by movement; movement is perpetuated by equilibrium; equilibrium is therefore the law of immortality.
"The doctrine of equality!... But there exists no more poisonous poison: for it seems to be preached by justice itself, while it is the end of justice.... "Equality for equals, inequality for unequals" that would be the true voice of justice: and, what follows from it, "Never make equal what is unequal."
