Abattoir worker, 23, is crushed to death by carcass of cow

A young abattoir worker has died after being crushed by the carcass of a cow.

The 23-year-old man, who has not been named, was taken to hospital yesterday but died a short time later.

Police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) officials have launched an investigation at the Sandyford abattoir in Paisley, Renfrewshire, the scene of an accidental shooting last month.
