Nine broken bones in six months: Pennsylvania mom convicted of aggravated assault on baby son

A 19-year-old mom in Pennsylvania was found guilty of causing shocking injuries to her baby son. The boy suffered nine broken bones between the ages of 15 and 22 months, the Reading Eagle reported. Kiara Mayne Estright was convicted Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Over a six month period in 2011 while the child lived with his mother in Reading, he suffered a bleeding skull fracture, two fractures to the same leg, a broken collarbone, a broken arm, a broken hand and three fractured ribs. He was alone with his mother when all of the fractures occurred, Assistant District Attorney Ellen R. West said in Berks County Court. He has not suffered any injuries since he moved in with a foster family, she added.
