A psychologist killed herself out of guilt after a paedophile attacked a child almost immediately after he was allowed to walk out of a secure unit unsupervised, an inquest heard yesterday. Lisa Derriscott, 33, blamed herself even though it was a team decision to let Shaun Tudor out for two hours despite a history of attacking boys. Minutes into his leave, Tudor dragged a ten-year-old boy into some bushes and subjected him to a terrifying sexual assault. Two weeks later Dr Derriscott was found dead in a burning car after leaving suicide notes to her mother and partner saying it was her fault that the convicted sex offender, who has spent 23 years in psychiatric institutions, had been allowed to strike again.
